By inve ting in de erving tudent , the initiative i nurturing future profe ional , innovator , and leader who will contribute to India' growing knowledge economy. The Initiative Through it CSR upport, Sutherland ha partnered with IIT Madra to provide cholar hip for tudent enrolled in the BS Degree Programme. The cholar hip i offered to Indian tudent from familie with an annual income below ₹5 lakh , enabling them to pur ue Foundation-level cour e without financial hard hip. By reducing the co t of education, the initiative empower tudent to focu on academic excellence while creating equitable acce to one of India' premier educational programme . Impact Since it launch, the programme ha upported 148 tudent , including 92 women and 56 men , acro India. With an inve tment of ₹50 lakh , the initiative ha enabled tudent to complete 1,184 cour e , with over ₹47.36 lakh already utili ed toward cholar hip . Beyond Chennai, the methodologie , technologie and intervention developed through the project can erve a a calable model for improving public tran port afety acro India. The Initiative Supported by Renault Ni an Technology & Bu ine Centre India (RNTBCI), IIT Madra launched a comprehen ive re earch programme to under tand and reduce accident involving Chennai' Metropolitan Tran port Corporation (MTC) bu e . The project combine large- cale accident analytic , driver health and behavioural a e ment , phy iological en ing, driving imulation and in-vehicle data collection to identify the factor influencing cra h ri k. By integrating hi torical accident record with real-time behavioural data, the initiative aim to develop practical intervention that improve public tran port afety. The competition attracted 312 regi tered team , with promi ing idea progre ing through multiple evaluation round . AI-powered camera y tem monitor peeding, lane violation , ignal jumping, parking violation , and pede trian movement, while rede igned junction , lane egregation, pede trian cro ing , Pelican ignal , and VMS board improve driver behaviour and pede trian afety. Rather than relying olely on enforcement, the initiative create a data-driven eco y tem that enable continuou monitoring, evidence-ba ed deci ion-making, and calable deployment acro urban road network .
