Objective
- This goal is to develop an open source platform for aggregating rural technology through the creation and dissemination of a set of locally manufactured, modular, interoperable machine components meant for small and medium farmers in rural India. Fabricators and MSMEs in small towns and rural areas will be able to access the designs and development processes involved in their manufacture, and can fabricate and modify them locally as per their end-users' requirements.
Description
- Set up an Integrated suite of open-source tools to create the platform, On-board the technology to the Crossfire platform, in the following order: i. Technologies developed in RuTAG, IITM. ii. Socially relevant project prototypes at IITM. iii.Technologies developed from collaborators and others at RuTAG, Details and demonstrations of the on-boarded technologies will be made available in English and vernacular languages., Set up a back-end database to track the utility of the platform

- Enable easy access to various technologies, Reduce the investments on sourcing designs for SMEs and fabricators, Technologies can be easily customised based on the available designs on the platform, instead of reinventing them or starting from scratch, Decentralisation of technical support and fostering the growth of innovators and industries in remote villages and small towns, Founded on the principle of equitable access by all, this platform furthers the reach of the designs and software it hosts
