Objective

Description

• Ordering, installation and commissioning of Anechoic chamber (for measuring noise levels of different equipment)., Carry out noise measurements on variable speed fans and compressors initially., Propose design changes for reduced noise levels; the target is to reduce the fan noise by at least 6 dB and a similar target for compressor noise of 5 dB.

Impact

• Ensure sustainable energy for other uses and make cooling more affordable., Reducing the energy required for cooling will also reduce the resources needed for new power plants to meet the explosive growth of the use of air conditioners in India.
