A connected fleet of outdoor ambient air purifiers to have a city-wide control of air quality
Principal Investigator
Prof. Shiva Nagendra SM
Objective
- The project aims to enhance air quality in a specific location by reducing ambient PM (Particulate Matter) concentrations. This will be achieved by deploying Envitran devices, outdoor air purifiers designed to filter and purify the surrounding air.
Description
- Create a low-latency 5G connectivity system and communication protocol for Envitran devices. Focus on mitigating health risks caused by air pollution, especially among vulnerable groups. Demonstrate innovation in air quality management, highlighting new technologies. Contribute to broader sustainability efforts by improving the efficiency and repairability of air purifiers.
Impact
- Deploying outdoor air purifiers in urban areas has several advantages, including improved air quality, better public health, a more pleasant urban environment, enhanced data collection capabilities, economic benefits, and increased public awareness of air pollution issues.
